Objectives. To study the influence of the ability to form a biofilm on the sensitivity of pathogens to biofilms.
Methods. We examined 192 clinical isolates from Republican scientific-practical center “Infection in Surgery”.
Results.Among the studied surgical infection pathogens the thickest biofilm was formed by P.aeruginosa. MIC90 of the investigated antibiotics increases up to 300 times for the bacteria in the composition of the biofilms compared to planktonic forms. Isolated S.aureus in the biofilm were most sensitive to fluoroquinolones, while P.aeruginosa isolates in the biofilm were resistant to all studied antimicrobials.
Conclusions. The ability to form biofilms is an effective protective factor that can significantly reduce the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics.

Keywords
