Aim. To analyze the associations of the -238G>A polymorphism of TNF gene with susceptibility to pulmonary sarcoidosis in ethnic Russian patients of Karelia republic.
Subjects and methods. The distribution of alleles and genotypes of the -238G>A polymorphism of TNF gene was studied in 84 patients with pulmonary sarcoidosis and 96 healthy controls. The polymorphic alleles were identified by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length analysis.
Results. Comparative analysis revealed no significant differences in the frequency of the alleles of the -238G>A polymorphism of TNF gene in investigated groups.
Conclusion. The -238G>A polymorphism of TNF gene is not associated with the risk of pulmonary sarcoidosis in ethnic Russian patients of Karelia republic |
