Dendritic cell vaccines in immunotherapy of cancer

The article is devoted to immunotherapy of tumors with dendritic cell vaccines. The history of the discovery of vaccines based on dendritic cells, the principles of creation and use, advantages and disadvantages of their use for therapeutic purposes compared with other types of anticancer vaccines, indications and contraindications are described. Clinical efficacy of immunotherapy of tumors of different localizations with dendritic cell vaccines is analyzed. Information about the number of clinical trials held in the world on the basis of immunotherapy with dendritic cell vaccines is provided. The results of our own studies of immune status of 6 women diagnosed with breast cancer prior to treatment are ðrovided.
