The aim of the study is to reveal the correlation between the diffusing capacity of lungs and the glomerular filtration rate in various variants of bronchial asthma.
Patients and methods. 89 patients with bronchial asthma were examined. Glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) by CKD-EPI was estimated.
The measurement of single-breath diffusing capacity for CO (DLco) was studied on the MasterScreen Diffusion apparatus (Erich Jaeger, Germany).
Results. Significant differences between the values both the glomerular filtration rate and the diffusing capacity of lungs in different variants of asthma were found, while in the non-allergic variant of the disease these values are less. A statistically significant correlation between the values of eGFR and diffusing capacity of lungs was revealed only in allergic variant of asthma.
The conclusion. Eosinophilic inflammation in allergic variant of bronchial asthma can be considered as a single mechanism for the formation of changes, both the diffusing capacity of lungs and the glomerular filtration rate for this variant of
the disease. |
