The aim of this study was to study the dental status in patients with allergic diseases.
To solve these problems, 158 patients with exacerbation of allergic persistent rhinitis (n = 38) and allergic intermittent rhinitis (n = 41) and with exacerbation of allergic bronchial asthma of moderate severity were examined; 38 patients with drug Allergy were examined.
It was found that patients with allergic diseases showed satisfactory indicators of oral hygiene (OHIS), which is apparently due to the mandatory sanitation of the mouth before hospitalization. High rates characterizing the intensity of carious process (KPU) were noted, which was comparable with those in patients of control groups. The average CPU of teeth naturally increased with age from CPU 10 [8;12] in 24±1.1 years in patients with allergic rhinitis to CPU 20 [18;22] in patients with allergic BA at the age of 45.4±2.1 years.
It was shown that in the period of exacerbation of allergic rhinitis and drug Allergy in patients the values of GI index were significantly higher (p<0.01), and in patients with exacerbation of allergic form of BA had a tendency to increase, compared with patients of the control group at a comparable level of hygiene. Reduction of the intensity of inflammation of the oral mucosa in patients and their reduction in 1 month after treatment of allergic rhinitis exacerbation (GI to-2,3[1,9;2,5], after-1,4; [1;1,7]) and drug Allergy (up to GI - 2,1 [1,6;2,4], after – 1,2 [1,1;1,5]) against the background of satisfactory hygiene of the oral cavity indicates the relationship of inflammation of the oral mucous membrane and allergic diseases.
Thus, allergic diseases are predisposing factors that affect the nature of the clinical course of inflammation of the SOPR, which allows to justify the use of immunotherapy in the complex treatment of this category of patients and the introduction of effective, pathogenetically sound, treatment regimens and programs for the prevention of dental diseases. |
