The new insight on the problem of the serologic resistance development in gender groups after therapy of the early syphilis

Andronova N.V.

The author reports new results in gender groups monitoring of the patients with the serologic resistance development after the therapy of the early syphilis. There are analysis of serological (RPR-test) and immune responses before and after of the repeat specific treatment of syphilis. Special reference to gender difference in the immune response to the infection depending on the patients’ immune status is identified such as putative markers of serologic resistance: high IgE and CD8+CTLs in conjunction with «immune activation» in men, the elevated IgM, CD8+T-cells and inadequate responses of T-cells to the stimulation of PHA in conjunction with «immune naivety» in women. The author discusses the role of different immune cell subpopulations in the regulation of the immune response to the infection.
